“Toronto, Ontario February 10th, 2020 – On February 10th, 2020 Volaris Group finalized the acquisition of BiblioCommons. Volaris is a Canadian software success story that is focused on acquiring, strengthening and growing vertical market software companies.

“We are very excited to welcome the team at BiblioCommons to the Volaris Group,” said Rick Bacchus, Executive VP and Bacchus Portfolio Head at Volaris. “As an innovative customer centric Library Software business, BiblioCommons has provided outstanding solutions for many years. This is an excellent foundation for the next phase of growth and service to their customers and the online Library Community”.

BiblioCommons will operate independently while advancing via the guidance and expertise of the Volaris network. Two of the founders, Beth Jefferson and Patrick Kennedy have decided to transition from BiblioCommons but will continue as advocates.

“As Founders, we have loved the work of developing the initial product vision alongside a wonderful group of founding libraries. But 13 years in, BiblioCommons is now at a very different stage. We have a broad, industry-leading product suite in production with over 200 libraries. The next phase of growth for BiblioCommons must center on systematically iterating, learning, operationalizing and scaling. There are different organizational skillsets required, and Patrick and I will be leaving BiblioCommons in the hands of a strong management team–many of whom have been with BiblioCommons for over eight years,” explained Beth Jefferson, Co-Founder and Former CEO.

Matt Goddard will step in on day one as the General Manager for BiblioCommons with a great product and customer focus.
