Original post:

I wanted to let you know that CBC Radio One’s Cross Country Checkup will be doing a live call-in show on Sunday, September 28th with special guest host Peter Mansbridge, that might be of interest to you and your colleagues.

The topic will be ” What is the future of the library in the age of Google.”

Chief Correspondent of CBC News, Peter Mansbridge, will be joined by staff and students from the digital humanities program at University of Waterloo Stratford Campus for a peek into the future of libraries and learning.

Ontario’s own, Ken Roberts, will be Peter’s In-Studio guest that day as well.  Ken’s paper he did for the BC Government in 2012 was partially the catalyst that caught a Producer’s eye.  The other is the director of a Digital Humanities program.

Do we still need to collect and keep printed books, and to pay to maintain the buildings to house them?

Listen to the discussion and voice your opinion live on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 4 pm ET / 1 PT / 2 MT / 3 CT / 5 AT on CBC Radio One.

Cross Country Checkup is Canada’s only national open-line radio program, broadcast live across Canada every Sunday afternoon on CBC Radio One, on SiriusXM satellite radio channel 169, and around the world on the Internet.
