In 2013, the Library of Congress announced that it would be exploring a linked data successor to the MARC format. The schema produced through that initiative is the Bibliographic Framework (BIBFRAME), currently in its second iteration, BIBFRAME 2.0. In June 2018, the Library of Congress announced that it would be migrating from MARC to BIBFRAME. This will result in an enormous change that will affect all Canadian libraries.
To help Canadian libraries prepare for the shift to BIBFRAME, the CFLA-FCAB Cataloguing and Metadata Standards Committee/ Comité sur les normes relatives au catalogage et aux métadonnées (CMSC/CNSM) is partnering with ASTED and Library and Archives Canada to form the Canadian BIBFRAME Readiness Task Force. The task force will survey the current Canadian cataloguing and metadata landscape and prepare documentation that CMSC/CNSM will use to develop a Canadian BIBFRAME strategy, helping Canadian libraries make the transition from MARC to BIBFRAME.
CFLA-FCAB members interested in participating on the current task force or in future CFLA-FCAB BIBFRAME working groups and who can bring a unique perspective to the work of these groups are encouraged to send an expression of interest to:

En 2013, la Library of Congress a annoncé qu’elle étudierait la possibilité de remplacer le format MARC par un système de données liées. Le schéma issu de cette initiative est le cadre bibliographique (BIBFRAME), qui en est actuellement à sa deuxième version, BIBFRAME 2.0. En juin 2018, la Library of Congress a annoncé son intention de passer de MARC à BIBFRAME. Cet exercice donnera lieu à d’énormes changements qui toucheront toutes les bibliothèques canadiennes.
Pour aider les bibliothèques canadiennes à se préparer au virage vers BIBFRAME, le Comité sur les normes relatives au catalogage et aux métadonnées (CNCM) de la Fédération canadienne des associations de bibliothèques (FCAB) s’associe à l’Association pour l’avancement des sciences et des techniques de la documentation et à Bibliothèque et Archives Canada pour former le groupe de travail canadien sur l’état de préparation du projet BIBFRAME. Le groupe de travail étudiera le paysage canadien actuel du catalogage et des métadonnées et préparera la documentation dont se servira le CNCM en vue d’élaborer une stratégie canadienne pour le projet BIBFRAME, ce qui aidera les bibliothèques canadiennes à faire la transition de MARC à BIBFRAME.
Les membres de la FCAB qui souhaitent participer au groupe de travail actuel ou aux prochains groupes de travail du projet BIBFRAME de la FCAB et qui peuvent apporter un point de vue unique aux travaux de ces groupes sont invités à envoyer une déclaration d’intérêt aux personnes suivantes :
