To what extent does not having a SIN and not filing taxes hinder access to government programs and supports like the Canada Learning Bond?

 

Join this WebEx learning series event, hosted by the Canada Education Savings Program at Employment and Social Development Canada in collaboration with Statistics Canada to learn more about the factors influencing SIN possession and tax-filing uptake in Canada. This new research project has been collaboratively produced by the Canada Education Savings Program and Statistics Canada, using 2016 Census data augmented with tax-filing and Social Insurance Number information.

About the Presenter

Eric Olson is chief of Census Income and Housing at Statistics Canada. He worked intensively with the Census and administrative data sources. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Montreal and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
