Library Day at Queen’s Park was November 26!

Twenty-five OLA and Federation of Ontario Public Libraries (FOPL) members attended 24 meetings with Ministers, MPPs, critics, and other interested decision makers at Queen’s Park on November 26.

We had a lot of great meetings set up by our advisors Impact Public Affairs.  We trained a small team of library advocates on the evening of Nov. 25th.

We hope OLA and FOPL members will continue the message locally when MPPs and constituents are back in their ridings mid-December. We’ll follow up shortly with those we met with by providing more information, suggestions, and materials to get the word out about how essential libraries are!

We’ll share more here soon.

UPDATE: We had a great and successful day!  Here’s a picture of my team (Stephen Abram, Bessie Sullivan, and Don Lynch) just before our meetings as we headed into the gallery at the legislature. (We were there the day before they decorated the trees!)
