Here is an op ed posted in the Toronto Star re: value of libraries – https://goo.gl/uLVfrn

I am proof libraries are critical to solving cultural poverty

Libraries are one of the major tools we have, like education, that allow the underprivileged to overcome their condition.

Note that James Janeiro shared this on his personal Facebook account, quoting the article:

“Their books are full of knowledge and human feelings in which we can find ourselves. They are sometimes the only sanctuaries for those who do not know where to go anymore or who are still trying to rebuild themselves — to find a new job or to get help in their apprenticeship, for example. Libraries are thus one of the major tools we have, which, like education, allow the underprivileged to overcome their condition.”
