The FOPL Annual General Meeting is at 4 pm in the Intercontinental Hotel Ontario Room. Come, hear and vote about the business of the Federation with updates from your Chair, Treasurer and Executive Director. https://fopl.ca/news/final-notice-of-2019-fopl-annual-general-meeting-jan-31-2019-4-p-m/
Last week both FOPL and OLA met with Finance Minister, the Honourable Vic Fedeli.  At FOPL’s urging, we also attended and presented at other provincial Finance consultations in, among others, Ajax, Whitby, and Dryden.
We maintained a wonderful presence at ROMA this week (Rural Ontario Municipalities Association – part of AMO).  We spoke with many Mayors, Councillors, and MPPs about the value and impact of public libraries.  This was a joint initiative with FOPL, ARUPLO, OLA, and SOLS.  You’ll be pleased to note that everyone spoke very highly of your operations!
With the appointment of new Library Boards for the next four years, we need the contact information for your Board Chair/FOPL Board Liaison.  Every member has two votes (one for the CEO and one for the Board).  We appreciate you sharing the information about your newly formed Board as well as double-checking our CEO contact information.  We use this information ethically and provide information to our members about the funding, policy, learning, and the environment for public libraries in Ontario.  There are only three questions and it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete.

Cheers,
Stephen
