Trudeau names 35 new parliamentary secretaries

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau named his 35 new parliamentary secretaries Wednesday afternoon.

In a document posted to the government’s website, Trudeau named Whitby MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes as his personal parliamentary secretary and appointed 34 others to assist with ministerial responsibilities.

Twelve of the parliamentary secretaries, or 34 per cent, are women. The cabinet itself is 50 per cent women, per Trudeau’s campaign promise of equal ministerial representation.
