2020 Maanjidiwaad Annual Meeting of First Nation Public Libraries in Ontario
(Spring Gathering)

Host: Nipissing First Nation (Garden Village), 36 Semo Road, Garden Village ON
Date: May 27 – 29, 2020
Registration Deadline: April 30, 2020
Ontario Library Service – North and Southern Ontario Library Service invite you to the Maanjidiwaad Annual Meeting of First Nation Public Libraries in Ontario, formerly known as Spring Gathering. The First Nation Strategic Action Group is excited to have our joint-annual meeting at Nipissing First Nation. We haven’t gathered in one of our territories in a long time!
The two-and-a-half day networking and professional development event will take place from May 27 – 29, 2020.
We will focus on the 2004 Our Way Forward final report through interactive and participatory sessions with the First Nation Strategic Action Group.
“We understand, first-hand, the experiences of First Nation public librarians in Ontario. By reviewing the 2004 Our Way Forward final report document collectively, we hope to improve the First Nation public librarian experience, and ensure continued success for current and future First Nation libraries in Ontario.”(First Nation Strategic Action Group)
The agenda, travel details and registration process, professional development template, the 2004 Our Way Forward final report, and the 2017 Ontario First Nation Public Libraries Needs Assessment Report are posted on the OLS – North First Nations Services website.
Ontario Library Service – North and Southern Ontario Library Service acknowledge and appreciate the work that the First Nation Strategic Action Group is dedicating to the Our Way Forward review process, and the Maanjidiwaad Annual Meeting of First Nation Public Libraries in Ontario gathering. Chi-miigwetch | Niá:wen:kowa for your dedicated volunteerism.
