The Government of Canada is issuing a notice of intent to implement a second round of tariffs, and is seeking views on imposing tariffs on imports of additional goods from the U.S., drawing from this list of goods.
The Government of Canada is proposing to implement a 25% tariff on books printed in the United States. This will have a negative impact on the Canadian publishing industry, as well as libraries, schools and any institution working with printed media, as most books are printed in the U.S., including those by Canadian authors. When filling out the survey, you can use the tariff item numbers 4901.99.00 and 4903.00.00.
