FOPL Members

This is to let you know that the Ebook Initiative group will be formally launching a promotional website for the issue of ebook fairness for libraries on Monday, June 15th. There will be media releases and social media coming from groups like the Toronto Public Library, Ontario Library Association, the Canadian Library Association and FOPL on that day.

We’re hoping you and your library can provide support through retweets and sharing a few key messages to your followers on all social media platforms. The objective here is to drive traffic to the site and get some attention for this issue from media.

Some sample tweets include:

Fair ebook prices are long overdue for libraries www.fairpricingforlibraries.org #FairEbookPrices

OR

Canadian public libraries join to demand #FairEbookPrices www.fairpricingforlibraries.org

OR

Caps and time limits on ebook use mean fewer titles and copies for readers to discover www.fairpricingforlibraries.org #FairEbookPrices

This initiative will also include a twitter chat with Vickery Bowles of the Toronto Public Library from 12pm-1pm on Wednesday, June 17th. Her twitter handle is @vbowlestpl.

Please let Ron LeForte at Impact Public Affairs know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Rob
