I am delighted to announce the hiring of Monica Mixemong as Part-time Administrative Assistant at the Federation of Public Libraries. Her first day of work will be Jan. 2nd 2014.

Monica has an impressive background. She is a graduate of the George Brown College Community Worker Program. She has a number of years’ experience as an administrative assistant to provincial not-for-profit organizations and in provincial social policy programs. She has worked with boards of directors including the Executive Board at the Chiefs of Ontario. In addition to her administrative expertise, Monica possess excellent computer skills and has a wealth of experience in database management, website development and social media. She also has great experience in managing events and public speaking which will also prove useful to FOPL.

Monica is Anishinabe of the Bear Clan from Beausoleil First Nation otherwise known as Chimnissing. (Mukwa ndoodem, Anishnabe Kwe ndow, Gchimnissing ndoonjibaa). She’s a proud mom to her 18 month old son Quentin James and guardian to her 9 year old sister Naomi. She enjoys traveling, music festivals and spending quality time with her large family.
