On March 29, the iSchool will be organizing a Round Table at the Faculty of Information (University of Toronto) on the theme: “Toward a Vibrant and Innovative Francophone Community” (9am-2pm). We’re delighted to confirm the participation of the Commissioner of French Language Services of Ontario, Mr. Francois Boileau, along with other key actors in the Franco-Ontarian community.
The event will include an opening ceremony by the Commissioner followed by a series of lightning talks presented by several engaging personalities and change agents from the Francophone community. In-depth moderated panel discussions or debates will take place concerning different sub-topics such as education, arts and culture, and social innovation. We will also have exhibits of French books by the likes of the federation of Franco-Canadian publishers (coming from Ottawa for the event), as well as information about TPL programming and services for the Francophone communities.
The purpose is to talk about how we can best tap into francophone talents in the province (and beyond) to produce and promote original content, innovative programming and services by and for the francophone community.
We invite you to join us to:
- Discover the diversity of Ontario’s francophone community.
- Discuss the critical role different sectors play in supporting a vibrant and innovative francophone community in Ontario.
- Connect with key players in the francophone community.
