Toronto Public Library Invites the City to Write its Story

Toronto Public Library is inviting the city to write a book, one line at a time, on Twitter. The story begins to unfold today with an opening line from City Librarian Vickery Bowles:
The public is invited to tweet the next line with #TorontoWritesABook.
Every day, the library will select two of its favourite lines to compete head-to-head in a Twitter poll, open to all to vote for the line that will ultimately advance the story.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what story we come up with together as a city,” said Vickery Bowles, Toronto Public Library’s City Librarian. “Toronto is home to so many diverse voices and experiences, and this story will celebrate that diversity by telling a story through a collaboration of thoughts, ideas and creativity.”
Local authors, personalities and organizations are going to contribute to the story as well, including authors Catherine Hernandez, David Bezmozgis and Teresa Toten, The Social’s Jess Allen, Global News radio host Matt Gurney and Toronto Star Books Editor Deborah Dundas, Ontario Science Centre, Gardiner Museum and Aga Khan Museum , and the TTC’s Brad Ross.
By the end of the month, the story will be complete and shared. Follow the story through Twitter or online.
