Treaties Recognition Week 2022: Communications Toolkit

Treaties Recognition Week is taking place from November 6 – 12, 2022 across Ontario.

Treaties Recognition Week was introduced in 2016 in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action to honour the importance of treaties and to help students and residents of Ontario learn more about treaty rights, treaty relationships and their relevance today.

This communications toolkit includes:

·         Teaching and learning resources for libraries and classrooms

·         Printable resources, including crossword puzzles, treaties map colouring page, and infographics

·         Digital graphics for social media

·         Backgrounds to raise awareness during video calls, chats, and meetings, and more.

Helping to build an understanding of the role treaties play in all our lives and how they form the basis of the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people is an important step towards reconciliation.
