I’m writing to you because I’m hoping you can help me spread the word about an exciting opportunity for public libraries around the world to participate in a 6-month experimental program to become more fully OF, BY, and FOR their communities. We’ve just launched this cross-sector, global program as part of a larger movement called OFBYFOR ALL. While we have many public-serving organizations interested – from museums to parks to theaters to senior centers – we have far fewer libraries than we would like in the mix. We want library voices front and center in the development of this work.

| In the First Wave, 20 organizations will go through an intensive 6-month process to grow more of, by, and for your community. The First Wave members will be a diverse group in terms of size, sector, and geography. We welcome all kinds of organizations to apply, but we especially seek applicants from libraries, parks, and performing arts venues, as well as organizations led by people of color.
