As you’re aware we’re seeing a spate of library closures.  These closures are generally from yesterday through April 6 and this includes Toronto Public Library.  FOPL and OLA are tracking here: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WQ-R-pDa0phNcdMwwMzpaa5qIBbiATrpaD77WejbROw/edit?usp%3Dsharing&sa=D&ust=1584197358823000&usg=AFQjCNH3C_jwd7CfyDrB6RnHKGG8YuXdfw
The FOPL offices are hosted by TPL.  Therefore, Helen Morrison (admin@fopl.ca) and I (sabram@fopl.ca) will be working from home for the next three weeks at least.  I created a full back-up of all FOPL digital files and have this drive at home. Helen has VPN access.  Please use e-mail to communicate with us or call my cel number.  We won’t have regular access to the office or our landlines although TRL has 24 hours security and I’m told they can let us in if needed.  The website (FOPL.ca) and our social media (Facebook and @foplnews) will continue to be updated.
FOPL’s work continues and we continue to monitor our sector and offer support and advice.  In particular, we will see if the Ontario and Federal budget timelines hold during the closure of the legislature and parliament.
FOPL, OLA, SOLS, and OLS-North are meeting again on Monday to coordinate our COVID-19 planning, among other things.
Be there for your communities and be safe.
