At our FOPL Board meeting the Board received a visit from Kevin Brennan, senior project executive with the new Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA) / Fédération canadienne des associations de bibliothèques (FCAB). Subsequently they passed a motion to have the executive director to join CFLA for 2017. This has been accomplished and FOPL is proud to be a member of this new national initiative.
As a result all FOPL members and their staff are members of CFLA as well. FOPL has two votes, on its members behalf, on all motions and will participate to represent the interests of the Ontario (and Canadian) public library sector.
We are particularly interested in how the national government advocacy agenda puzzles nicely with the FOPL government relations activities.
