Hi Stephen,
We know this has been quite a challenging and uncertain time but we hope you and your families are staying safe and healthy. Although most schools, libraries, and community spaces are closed, we are continuing to support all of our Community Partners during this time, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist in any way.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our team has been hard at work to make computer science educational activities available for download, free of charge to anyone who wants to access them with our latest resource, Girls Who Code at Home. Each activity features a woman in tech who has pioneered innovative technology. We will release activities on a weekly basis — including some online and offline components of varying levels of difficulty — over the course of the next few months. All of our current Club Facilitators received the same information in addition to other helpful resources to engage their Club members!
We invite you to share these free resources with anyone in your network who might benefit from free online learning, including students, teachers, and parents. Please note that you don’t have to be affiliated to a Girls Who Code Club or a Community Partnership in order to access these resources. If you’d like, you can share the blurb at the bottom of this email.
We’re also excited to share that we’re hosting a live webinar for Facilitators and Community Partners where we’ll share best practices for hosting Clubs virtually, review our latest virtual learning resources, and answer questions. We’d love to see you on Wednesday, April 29th or Thursday, April 30th and encourage you to share this invitation with anyone affiliated with your partnership who may be interested in hosting a virtual Girls Who Code Club now or in the future.
If you have questions about our new educational activities, please reach out. We will continue to share new information and virtual learning resources as they become available.
Stay safe, be healthy, and keep coding,
Girls Who Code
