As you may already know,  the next census will take place in May 2021. Census information is important to all communities and is vital for planning schools, daycare, family services, public transportation, and skills training for employment. I am writing this to seek your support in our campaign to increase awareness of the census among members and clients of your organization.

Statistics Canada will be hiring approximately 32,000 people across the country to assist in census data collection activities. We would like to work with you and your organization to ensure that your members and clients are aware of these job opportunities. If you know of anyone who may be interested in gaining professional, marketable experience working for Statistics Canada, please spread the word about these opportunities.  To learn more and to apply, please visit www.census.gc.ca/jobs.

Additionally, your support in encouraging members of your network to complete the census will have a direct impact on gathering the data needed to plan, develop, and evaluate relevant programs and services. To make the most of the months leading up to the census, I suggest consulting the Community Supporter Toolkit, currently available on the census website. It contains easy-to-use resources to help you to promote census jobs and encourage others to complete the questionnaire. The toolkit includes various products, including social media content, web images, posters, articles and newsletters that you can use on your website, or to spread the word to your professional networks.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you in advance for your support of the 2021 Census.
