Nominations Open for the W.K. Lamb Award

Ex-Libris and CFLA-FCAB are now accepting nominations for the W.K. Lamp award. This award recognizes a library that has developed an ongoing service, program or procedure of benefit to seniors and/or a design and organization of buildings or facilities that improve access and encourage use by seniors.   Please refer to the CFLA website for more information on the nomination process.

2019 FOPL Data Report Seminar

FOPL will be hosting a seminar in September to discuss the 2019 FOPL Data Report.  The seminar will provide an introduction the Data Report with the accompanying dataset and its potential uses for advocacy in your library systems. Great news from CFLA!

Please read the CFLA's statement regarding the Supreme Court of Canada's unanimous decision in the York University v. Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency (Access Copyright) case, upholding that the tariffs offered by Access Copyright are not mandatory for non-licensees. Access Copyright cannot sue for infringement on this case.  A major win for libraries!
