FOPL:

We thought it might help our members if we created a message for you to post to your websites as well as your social media accounts.  Contribute this messaging as a trusted, well-managed, community hub partner.  Keep our Ontarians calm and informed – as is our strength!
We are aware of a few systems that have announced total branch closures (ex. Stratford, Ottawa etc..  Others have cancelled some or all programs and March Break events.  It would be helpful if you keep FOPL (sabram@fopl.ca) and OLA (spaterson@accessola.com) as well as your library service agency (SOLS/OLS-North) informed about your status so we can track things as they evolve.  Simply send us:
  1. Library name
  2. Location/Town/City
  3. Time period of closure
  4. website link
Thanks.
Here’s a draft message for you to start with.
“Ontario’s public libraries are actively monitoring the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Public libraries are working closely with local municipalities, public health authorities and Ontario’s library services agencies to make timely, responsible decisions about programming, services and access. For up-to-date information about the status in your community, please consult your local public library’s website or contact by phone.”
Cheers,
Stephen
