Sixth Townhall with Minister MacLeod (OMA Notes)
Yesterday, the Honourable Minister MacLeod hosted a conference call to discuss the government’s response to COVID-19, focused on the regional reopening of Phase 2.

In her update, Minister MacLeod referred to the results of a recent Ipsos poll, which revealed that only 9% of Ontarians would currently be comfortable attending a gallery or museum. This reticence to return to pre-COVID behavioural patterns activities will need to be overcome and the minister discussed initiatives and funding investment. From our notes, $13 million for an Ontario tourism marketing recovery plan, in addition to $1.5 million for the Tourism Development Fund, $6.95 million to 13 RTOs, and $700 000 to sector associations active in tourism.

In answer to many questions requesting clarity on protocols and safety guidelines, the Minister recommended the Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) website, which has a COVID-19 hub.

A recording of the Townhall will be uploaded HERE in due course.

The OMA has requested that the Ipsos report be shared.
