Annual General Meeting

As a Non-Profit-Organization, FOPL is required to hold an annual general meeting of members. This page is deemed one of our forms of notice on the coming AGM and will be updated with official notices, proxy forms, notice of draft resolutions, and agenda packages.

The Annual General Meeting for the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries will take place virtually via Zoom on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 10:00am.

The draft agenda and all supporting documents will become available on the website in the members section, https://fopl.ca/agm/ It will be updated 30 days prior to the AGM. Only members in good standing are eligible to attend and vote at the AGM.

Dates to Note

  • Proxy forms can be sent in until Thursday, April 23rd at 4:00pm. Proxy Form
  • Nominations or self-nominations for board vacancies are due Friday February 20, 2026.
  • Any member resolutions are due no later than 30 days prior to the AGM; Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at 4:00pm.

According to Bylaw 1, Section 9.2, resolutions shall be prepared and submitted to the Board no later than 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting. Resolutions, other than resolutions proposed by the Board, may not exceed 200 words in length, and shall be signed by the presiding officer and the secretary of the submitting body. Small/Medium Caucus – CEO (Term is ending)

Former Library Leaders – Rep (Term is ending)

Please send nominations to admin@fopl.ca If only one qualified nominee is received by the deadline, that applicant will be acclaimed. In the event of multiple nominations for the same position, a Caucus election will occur in March prior to the AGM.
